Annual BFN Campout

Every year in May, we get together with a group of friends for a long-standing tradition of BFN campout at City Park in Austin, Texas. BFN = Big Friends Network, not just a group of friends but also a charitable corporation that we founded.

This started out about fifteen years ago with a bunch of 20-somethings in tents with no kids. As our families have grown, the situations have changed a little bit, but we still have a great time, and the kids love it. One of the nice things about the RV spots, is that some of them are directly on the waterfront, which is not true of the regular tent sites. Here is where Catarina sits perched for the festivities.

And the best part of camping at the lake, is getting out on the boats. Since we sold our boat last year, we were fortunate enough to snag a ride with friends Greg and Denise, and Dave and Sharon. Thanks so much for letting us hang out with you! And next year, we plan to have a boat of our own once again, to spread the fun.

McKenzie's been on boats many times, so she's an old hand at it.

But this was Dylan's very first boat ride ever. He seemed to be very comfortable.

McKenzie and her friend Danielle needed to take a nap, too.

Looks like we had so much fun, we forgot to take any pictures at the campsite. But that's okay, because we had such a great time, we decided to leave the RVs at the lake and go back out this coming weekend. And hopefully this time we'll remember to take some photos.

Thanks to all who came by the Annual BFN Campout at various times, we had a lot of fun and we're already making plans for next year's festivities.

Good friends, good weather, good cause... and an Airstream thrown in; heaven.

Our blogs are all wittering on about how we restore our silver darlings, so its great to see you just chilled out with your family enjoying yours.

Hoping to be enjoying (though I am enjoying the restoration) the Flying Cloud soon.
